தமிழ் மொழி உலகின் பன்மையான மொழிகளில் ஒன்றாகும். இந்தியாவில் உள்ள தமிழ் மாநிலத்திலுள்ள மக்கள் மட்டுமின்றி உலகில் 150 க்கு மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளில் வசிக்கும் மக்களால் தமிழ் மொழி பேசப்படுகிறது.அமெரிக்காவில் ஓக்லஹோமா நகரம் மற்றும் சுற்றுப்புறங்களில் நிறைய தமிழ்க் குடும்பங்கள் வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார்கள்.அவர்களின் குழந்தைகளுக்கு தமிழ் மொழியை படிக்க, எழுத மற்றும் பேசக் கற்றுக்கொடுப்பதோடு  தமிழ் கலாச்சாரத்தையும் சொல்லித்தருவது தான்  ஓக்லஹோமா தமிழ் பள்ளியின் நோக்கம்.

இந்தப்பள்ளி பயன் எதிர்பாராத அமெரிக்க வருவாய்த்துறையால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட 501 (சி) (3) நிறுவனமாகும்.

இந்த பள்ளி தன்னார்வலர்களால் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. இப்பள்ளி நாடு, பால், வயது, மதம் மற்றும் அரசியல்   வித்தியாசம் காட்டுவதில்லை. படிப்பதற்கு கட்டணம் இல்லை.

இப்பள்ளி அமெரிக்க கல்விக் கழகத்த்தின்  உறுப்பினராகும். அமெரிக்க கல்விக் கழகம் சுமார் 50 க்கு மேற்பட்ட உறுப்பினர்களை கொண்டது. அமெரிக்க கல்விக்கழகம் இந்த பள்ளிகளை  மேற்பார்வை பார்ப்பதோடு, ஒரே பாடத்திட்டம்,புத்தகம், ஆகியவற்றையும் செய்துவருகிறது.

Tamil language is world’s one of the oldest languages. Majority of the people who speak Tamil language live in Tamil Nadu state in India but it is also spoken by people who live in more than 150 countries in the world. Tamil language is official language in Tamil Nadu state in India, Sri Lanka and Singapore. Tamil language is a required course in Canada and Austrlia.

Oklahoma City Tamil School is dedicated to teach Tamil language to children living in Oklahoma City metro area.  Children also are given an opportunity to learn Tamil culture by participating in different cultural activities. This school is a volunteer driven, not-for profit (501) (3) organization. Tuition is free. Oklahoma City Tamil School does not discriminate on the basis of nationality, age, religion, political party and any other similar identities.

Oklahoma City Tamil School is a member of American Tamil Academy. There are more than 50 schools are members of the organization. American Tamil Academy oversees all the schools by having same syllabus, text books and an interactive web site for school administration and learning purposes.
